Our easy and refreshing menu to face the heat

When it’s hot, it’s not always easy to compose a menu that is both satiating and refreshing. To help you beat the heat, without spending hours behind the stove, discover our gourmet ideas. On the menu: a starter, a main course and a dessert perfect for facing the high summer temperatures.

The mercury continues to rise and the heat is felt even in the kitchen. Salads, cold soups, raw vegetables, ice creams or even fruit salads… When it’s hot, we often want cold and lighter recipes than usual. so this week, no need to turn on the oven and spend hours behind the stove. We choose fresh recipes that require little or no cooking. Starter, main course, dessert: discover our menu and our turnkey recipes to delight and face the dog days.

What to drink when it’s hot? Did you know that drinking too cold speeds up body dehydration. If in general we want to resort to a soda with ice cubes or a glass of very cold water, know that there is nothing more effective than having a drink… lukewarm (between 12 and 14° to be exact) or hot! The latter allows the vessels to dilate and evacuate heat more easily. This way you will also avoid thermal shocks. In case of heat stroke, opt for a large glass of water at room temperature or a tea without sugar, for example.

Your special high heat menu

For the starter: gazpacho express

The ingredients :
6 tomatoes
1 onion
1 peeled cucumber
1 red bell pepper
1 clove garlic
1 pinch of cumin
1 pinch of oregano
1 pinch of salt
5 cl of neutral oil
5cl of vinegar

The preparation :
Peel the tomatoes, cut them into pieces and pass them through the blender.

When they are pureed, add all the other ingredients and mix until everything is completely liquid.

Finally, pass the liquid through a chinois or strainer, add water and ice cubes. Refrigerate before serving.

For the main course: summer salad with mozzarella

The ingredients :
220g mozzarella
20 cherry tomatoes
1 lemon
200 g of lamb’s lettuce
1 melon
1 bunch of basil
Salt and pepper

The preparation :
Wash, drain and cut the canons. Cut the melon into strips and the cherry tomatoes in 2. Crumble the mozzarella. Chop the bunch of fresh basil.

Toss everything together with a pinch of salt and chill until ready to serve.

The ingredients :
2 tubs of red fruits or 400 g of already frozen red fruits for an express version
1 splash of water
1 tablespoon of honey

The preparation :
If you opt for fresh fruit, place the red berries in the freezer a few hours before.
Mix the fruits with the honey and a splash of water.
